Being Faithful in a Local Church

The last Character Trait that we’ll talk about is faithfully attending and being a part of a local church.

Paul tells us in Hebrews 10:35, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Not forsaking the fellowship is a command and we need to follow it. God doesn’t give us these commands just to talk but he does it for our own good. Because he never meant for us to walk this out alone. We need the encouragement and to be around other believer’s so that we don’t lose hope.

Let’s face it, you become who you hang around with and some people have a hard time learning this.  You need to surround yourself with God’s word and other believers in order to be your strongest. You are only one part of the body and you need the rest of it to properly function.

We are the strongest in unity and in unity we have direction and can flow together.  The body needs each other and each part is equally important.  You need the church and the church needs you!

We need the fellowship to help us stay grounded. If we are not coming to church on a consistent basis, your opening a door for the devil and the more you don’t come, the harder he will make it to come back. So, let’s be wise, and trust God at His Word and not let anything stand in the way of it. The devil can help us think of many reasons why not to go to church, but all we need to know is that Jesus wants us there, so let’s listen to the creator, I think he knows best.

If you do not have a home church, I encourage you to find one that is Word focused and filled with the Holy Spirit and serve there faithfully.  You, of course, are always welcome at New Beginnings Fellowship!
